TomTom as Finally appeared on the app store

It’s the day satnav fans have been waiting for: the day satnavs go sexy. The TomTom for iPhone, the most eagerly awaited turn-by-turn GPSprogram for your iPhone has finally arrived at the App Store.

Okay, we know that the TomTom for iPhone app isn’t the first GPSprogram for the iPhone (Co-Pilot and Navigonbeat the to the navi-punch), but it’s the one satnav fans have been waiting for. So

how much does it cost? Well, if you want your TomTom for iPhone with just UK & Ireland maps, you can grab it for £59.99. If you like getting around the continent, then you’ll be interested in the Western Europe version for £79.99.

“That’s a pricey app,” we hear you say. And yes it is. But you also get IQ Routes which works out the fastest route depending on the time of day, safety camera alerts, 2D and 3D views, plus multitouch inputs so you can use the iPhone’s screen to pinch and swipe the maps.

TomTom’s still not unveiled the rest of the accompanying car kit, but as soon as it does (and for how much) will let you know.
