PlayStation Video Store Coming Soon

PS3-Video-Store_size_9As promised, the PlayStation Video Store was announced at GamesCom and the good news is it is definitely coming to the UK! The bad news? You’ll have to wait a few more months because it won’t be available until November.

The news that the PlayStation Video Store would be coming to Europe was outed by a Sony exec last week, but SCEE’s new top brass, Andrew House, confirmed that it will be arriving in Blighty from November.

House (the Sony head honcho, not Hugh Lawrie) revealed that the new service will offer movies in both High-Definition and standard-definition qualities for the PS3 and PSP, offering the likes of Bond, Star Trek, Harry Potter and Batman flicks.

Sony says that the PlayStation Video Store will initially contain only movies, but ‘local content’ will become available down the line. What the means is you finally may be able to get as much Homes Under The Hammer on your PSP as you want come 2010.

Pricing is still under wraps, but we’ll let you know how much it’ll cost to use the service as soon as Sony unleashes the deets.
