PS3 has lost some weight

Like something out of an episode of Extreme Weight Loss, the Sony PS3has shed more pounds than a British bank and sauntered onto the gaming catwalk with a new slender waistline. In fact the Sony PS3 Slim is a full one third smaller than its full-fat big brother and 36 per cent lighter! It also uses 34 per cent less power! Al Gore will be pleased!

Sony’s had form with downsizing its consoles, with both the PS1 and PS2being put on the Sony diet plan. So it came as no surprise when Sony announced the lithe PS3. It’ll have a 120GB hard drive, a Blu-ray player and an HDMI port, making for an ideal multimedia machine to stick under your telly.

Amazon’s currently listing the PS3 Slim with a £249.99 price tag and a September 4th 2009
